About Angelika
Born in Amsterdam and raised and educated in Germany, Angelika brings a distinctly international perspective and a deep understanding of the U.S. military community to her role with USO Deutschland e.V. Her personal and professional journey has taken her between Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States, fostering a strong appreciation for German-American relations and the importance of supporting service members and their families.
Having been married to a U.S. Air Defense service member for more than 18 years, Angelika experienced military life firsthand. She spent more than seven years living and working in the United States, where she supported various U.S. military facilities in business administration roles. These experiences provided her with valuable insight into the unique challenges, traditions, and sense of community associated with military life, while strengthening her commitment to the partnership between the United States and Germany.
After returning to Germany in 2008, Angelika joined the USO as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Regional Vice President. Since then, she has supported the organization at the regional level, working closely with USO colleagues, military leadership, community partners, and volunteers across the USO network.
Her combination of international experience, professional expertise, and longstanding connection to the military community reflects her commitment to strengthening German-American relations and supporting those who serve and their families.
As a Board Member of USO Deutschland e.V., I am honored to contribute my experience, international background, organizational knowledge, and personal connection to the military community. I believe strongly in the USO's mission and in the importance of maintaining and strengthening the enduring friendship between the United States and Germany.
Outside of my professional and board responsibilities, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family in the Netherlands, and exploring the Pfälzer Wald with my husband and our rescue dog from Romania. These personal connections keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of community, friendship, and the relationships that connect us across borders. I believe in being the change you want to see in the world.
